In 2015, Vietnam exported $185B and imported $169B, resulting in a positive trade balance of $15.8B. In 2015 the GDP of Vietnam was $193B and its GDP per capita was $6.03k.

In 2015 Vietnam exported $185B, making it the 24th largest exporter in the world. During the last five years the exports of Vietnam have increased at an annualized rate of 18.6%, from $77.3B in 2010 to $185B in 2015.

The top exports of Vietnam are Broadcasting Equipment ($30.3B), Integrated Circuits ($10.8B), Computers ($7.29B), Leather Footwear ($6.27B) and Textile Footwear ($6.01B), using the 1992 revision of the HS (Harmonized System) classification. 

The top export destinations of Vietnam are the United States ($38.1B), China ($19.2B), Japan ($15B), South Korea ($9.6B) and Germany ($8.71B).

In 2015 Vietnam imported $169B, making it the 27th largest importer in the world. During the last five years the imports of Vietnam have increased at an annualized rate of 13.8%, from $84.6B in 2010 to $169B in 2015. The most recent imports are led by Integrated Circuits which represent 6.62% of the total imports of Vietnam, followed by Telephones, which account for 6.24%.

Its top imports are Integrated Circuits ($11.2B), Telephones($10.6B), Refined Petroleum ($5.81B), Light Rubberized Knitted Fabric ($3.39B) and Crustaceans($1.88B).

The top import origins are China ($49.8B), South Korea ($26.6B), Japan ($13.1B), Other Asia ($9.9B) and Thailand($8.51B).
